【摘要】:Mostanalyticalmethodsusedinairpollutantmeasurementsarecomparativeinnatureandrequirecalibrationorstandardization,orboth,oftenwithknownblendsofthegasofinterest.Sincemanyoftheimportantairpollutantsarereactiveandunstable,itisdifficulttostorethemasstandardmixturesofknownconcentrationforextendedcalibrationpurposes.Analternativeistopreparedynamicallystandardblendsasrequired.Thisprocedureissimplifiedifaconstantsourceofthegasofinterestcanbeprovided.Permeationtubesprovidethisconstantsource,ifproperlycalibratedandifmaintainedatconstanttemperature.Permeationtubeshavebeenspecifiedasreferencecalibrationsources,forcertainanalyticalprocedures,bytheEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(3).Note8212;Thissystemhastheadvantageofsmalleruncertaintyofthetemperatureofthepermeationtube.FIG.1OptionalSystemforLaboratoryUseofaPermeationTube1.1Thispracticedescribesameansforusingpermeationtubesfordynamicallycalibratinginstruments,analyzers,andanalyticalproceduresusedinmeasuringconcentrationsofgasesorvaporsinatmospheres(,).1.2Typicalmaterialsthatmaybesealedinpermeationtubesinclude:sulfurdioxide,nitrogendioxide,hydrogensulfide,chlorine,ammonia,propane,andbutane().1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
